Readme File
-----------
The Readme file is Readme.txt (This file).  This file may 
be found in the ImagingOCXs folder on the CD containing the 
Imaging for Windows software.  This file is not installed 
to the destination folder.


OCX Help
--------
After installation, the Imaging for Windows OCX help file, 
imgocxd.hlp, is located in the folder where you installed 
the Imaging for Windows OCX software.


Developer's Guide
-----------------
The Imaging Developer's Guide, DevGuide.pdf, is located on 
the release media.

Installing/Uninstalling the Software

Installing the Software
-------------------------
Imaging for Windows OCX may be installed on Windows 98SE, 
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6a, Windows 2000 or 
Windows XP Service Pack 1. You must be a local 
administrator to install the software.

1. Close any running applications to avoid possible file 
conflicts.

2. Go to the "ImagingOCXs" folder on the CD and run the 
SETUP.EXE program.

3. After a few seconds, the Imaging for Windows OCX 
Installation screen appears.

4. After the software is copied to your system, the Setup 
complete screen appears.

5. Click Finish to end the installation.


Installation Notes
------------------
If the OCX version is installed on top of older releases 
of Imaging for Windows, the older version is removed. 
If installed on top of the current Imaging for Windows
product, the Imaging Application, the Preview Application, 
and the Flow Application are not removed.

The "Server Access Object" component is installed with the 
Imaging 1x Server Access support, found in the "1xClient" 
folder of the release media.

A silent install exists for the ImagingOCXs installation. If 
setup.exe is invoked with the "-s" switch, the install will 
execute without prompting the user. To change the install 
location, change the szDir volume in the setup.iss file.


Uninstalling the Software
-------------------------
On Windows NT, 2000, or XP, you must log on as a local 
administrator to uninstall the software.

1. From the Windows Control Panel, double-click the 
Add/Remove Programs icon. The Add/Remove Programs Properties 
dialog box appears.

2. If present, select Imaging for Windows Server Access.

3. Click Add/Remove. The Confirm File Deletion dialog box appears.

4. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the program.

5. Select Imaging for Windows OCXs.

6. Click Add/Remove. The Confirm File Deletion dialog box appears.

7. Click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the program.


Un-install Notes
----------------
On Windows NT, 2000, or XP, the uninstall procedure only clears 
the Imaging preferences and settings for the user who uninstalls 
Imaging for Windows.

NOTES
=====
Imaging for Windows OCXs will not run properly if installed 
in a directory that contains a period (.) as part of its name.

When the current Imaging for Windows product is already 
installed, but to a different location, it is not possible to 
properly uninstall Imaging for Windows. To clean your system 
install the Imaging product again and perform an uninstall. 
Then reinstall this release of Imaging OCXs.


Development Component Names
---------------------------
The names of the Custom Controls for Development Container 
Environments (e.g. VB) changed from the previous version. The 
OCX names and the SAO component names no longer contain 'Kodak', 
i.e. "Kodak Image Admin Control". In Visual Basic these names 
are displayed in the Projects->Components...' and 
'Projects->References...' dialogs for adding controls and 
references into your Visual Basic project. The new descriptive 
names are the following:
   Image Admin Control
   Image Scan Control
   Image Thumbnail Control
   Image Edit Control
   Image Annotation Control
   Image OCR Control
   Image Server Access Object
